“For God, who said, “Let there be light in the darkness,” has made this light shine in our hearts so we could know the glory of God that is seen in the face of Jesus Christ” (2 Corinthians 4:6, NLT).
Sivini is a Papua New Guinean that works with the Usarufa translation team in his home country. Before he gave his life to God, he was a fierce warrior who led and was involved in many tribal fights that killed many people from enemy tribes. Sivini first became involved in translation as a language expert in 2008. It was then that he heard the story of Cain and Abel. The Lord used that story to convict him and he asked for prayer. Today, Sivini is part of the team working to translate the Word of God into Usarufa, and his face which once showed anger and violence, now displays the glory of God.
- Praise God for the transforming power of His Word.
- Pray that Sivini would continue to grow in his understanding of God’s Word and the transforming power of the Gospel.
- Pray that more Usarufa people will be impacted by Christ’s transformation of Sivini from a fierce warrior to a man of God.
